Research

IRP – International Foundation for Research in Paraplegia allocates funds to support basic and clinical research in paraplegia in Switzerland and around the world, on the recommendation of the IRP Scientific Committee composed of international experts in the field. Over the past 20 years more than 150 research projects have been funded, thanks to financial support from institutional and private donors.

Scientists working in paraplegia and similar fields who are interested in obtaining funds for a research project or for a grant covering post-doctoral work or who wish to compete for the IRP Research Prize should every two years send their applications to this website no later than 31 October.
In February of the following year, the IRP Scientific Committee evaluates the quality of the projects submitted based on their excellence and according to predefined selection criteria. It identifies the most promising projects and recommends them for funding to the Foundation's Board.
